Landscape Photography | Before The Upside Down World – Hodge Close & Holme Fell
The weeks pass by and we all go on our travels in search of an image a photograph that will be our best! I never look for my best I look for interest and images that excite me but thats just me… We all carry on like the world will never change. Up to the lakes and back again, post process, print, share online and off we go, on to our next location and so on and so on.
What happened in the world after my visit to The Lake District has changed my photography outlook forever!
We are all falling, free falling in a nightmare without a landing! The fear the media is forever pushing, how many people have died each day is far from the truth of what is happening in society. People are coming together to help either virtually or helping others around them, of course 6 feet away with social distancing. The services are working harder than ever! Including my wife as a Key Worker. The term Key Worker needs to be changed to… HEROS! Amazing people who are the back bone of the country and deserve all the praise! I won’t get political, nor will I go too deep into my own thoughts on all this terror, fear and fake news flying around. We need at all times to stay vigilant that this virus is deadly and as so we protect ourselves, our families and people around us with every action!
People all of a sudden seem to have many hats, police, nurse, journalist even dictator! Harry Enfield on steroids, YOU DON’T WANNA DO IT LIKE THAT! or even Hitler style, when did this happen, when did we have such elitist bellends everywhere… What about empathy, what about taking care of your own business and keep your nose out of mine. Even if people are being stupid this is a small minority, to tar everyone with the same brush is ludicrous. Yea I get it everyone has a right to an opinion, that’s the problem, a right to say things without knowing the full facts. The guidelines put forward by the government are clear, what’s so hard to understand…
Hodge close is a remarkable place and huge! A massive expanse to explore and photograph. It has the added bonus of being right in the middle of some superb fells including Holme Fell! Watch my video from Holme Fell it is an outstanding place for landscape photography and if like me you love Silver Birch, it’s filled with the most wonderful trees. I could spend a life time studying this area and not get my fill of compositions… I will be returning hopefully sooner than later.
Let’s keep our heads, let’s help each other, let’s create! Don’t turn on each other we are divided enough we don’t need more division, we need to join together to fight this! Reet, thats enough of my opinion… which is poorly written and probably spelt wrong… Here’s my last video before lockdown!
To be creative means everything to me, here are the shots from my last visit to the Lake District, I hope you like them… Please drop a comment below…
