THE LOCATIONS
Day 1: Elements On Overdrive.
We start at Loch Maree before heading over to Loch Clair. Opening the workshop with such variety from two incredible locations that give everything you need from the natural landscape. All the elements in full flow from the powerful mountainscapes, beautiful lochs and magical woodland; wide vistas to fill your memory cards with expressive photography.
Day 2: Seeing and Seascapes.
We head to the rugged, remote and wild coastal vista of Mellon Udrigle with aqua marine seas backed by historical crofts and elegant mountains. Within the coastline we have beautiful details of intimate shapes and the sea’s collection of gifts with water shaped stones, flowing lines in the sand and moments of silence washed with the sound of the sea.
Day 3: Chaos and Characters.
Into the trees where we will spend time with natures voices in the woodland, to create and explore. To venture into the home of twisting and turning trees, to see their characters, develop their story and make sense of it all in a photograph. Today, we will slow right down to the pace of the trees with their still and strong compositions, learning the shapes and details before putting the camera to eye; developing our own vision and sharing the beauty of the woodland with each other.
Day 4: Faces and Places.
We head inland in complete contrast to the days before, to seek the scenes of the streets and the culture of Inverness with some street photography. A city with mystical back streets and art gallery’s to visit. We shall spend the day submerged in seeing, waiting for moments and picking out the light and shadows before venturing inside for inspiration at the art galleries, with a break for tea, coffee and of course a slice of cake. We will return to the streets to experience the changing of light and the moments of people walking the streets of Inverness.
Day 5: Camera to Frame – completing the process.
A slow start to the day, bringing the rhythm of the workshop to completion. We will spend some time photographing in a local woodland, and also discussing your time on the workshop; a podcast and video in production with you joining me in conversation, ideas and inspiration for your own future photography – how you will move forward with your creativity and what the workshop week has given you.

ACCOMMODATION
The Barn at Black Isle Berries is situated at Ryefield Farm, Tore on the Black Isle, just 10 minutes drive from Inverness, the capital of the Highlands, and 30 minutes from Inverness Airport.
Occupying the footprint of an old farm shed, The Barn was built 8 years ago as a bunkhouse. It has now been transformed into a spacious, comfortable house that sleeps up to 10 people, providing ideal accommodation for extended families or groups looking to spend time in and around this picturesque area.
You will each have your own bright and modern room, a very comfortable space to settle in after a day of photography and adventure. On the ground floor, we have a large kitchen area and dining space together with a relaxed large lounge area for chilling and conversation. Here we will have presentations, talks and editing educational evenings.
A great base for reaching out to all the above locations we will visit. Ample parking and a cracking farm shop filled with local goodies to buy while spending time with us. I always come home with home made biscuits and jams.
