The Sunken trees of Thirlmere…
If you get the chance take it, you never know what’s around the corner. This video started before Christmas 2020 when lockdown restrictions were eased but this wasn’t to last. Little did I know and I never capitalised on the conditions in the landscape at that time. On my return I was given something else. The Sunken trees of Thirlmere ended up with magical morning light! I’m a great believer of making your own luck and being at the right place at the right time. Well I was here for one thing and got quite emotional with another. THIS is why I love landscape photography and outdoor photography. I’m also super proud to talk about one of my images from this project and video. The light streaming over the shoulder of Helvellyn won the Fotospeed FS Monday competition. I was so so chuffed to have won the weekly competition. Fotospeed are a great brand that support and build communities for photographers who love to print, their papers are great quality and nothing is too much when you ask for any help or advice for printing. Visit their website and have a look around lots of content and information to take you down the road of home printing. The final step in completing your photography project has to be printing. Personally the joy and pleasure to produce your own prints you love goes over and beyond seeing them digitally on a screen or tiny on instagram. Printing is transforming the way I think about light, contrast and getting the most from my photography. Fotospeed is a must for this. I say this not just because I won, I say this because I’ve been a huge follower and enjoyed seeing the FS Monday competition images every week for years! So to win was an amazing feeling, especially with the amount of talented photographers sharing their images week in week out! I’m also buzzing because I will get my image in the gallery at the Photography Show 2021! If your at the show this year look out for me standing next to my image with a proper cheesy grin. Prizes for weekly winners…
Four entries will be shortlisted each week with all four photographers winning a £10 voucher to be used for any Fotospeed branded products on the Fotospeed website. The weekly winner will have their image printed on one of the Fotospeed Fine Art papers and sent to them, as well as having their image printed and presented in the Fotospeed Gallery at The Photography Show.
