LONG EXPOSURE PHOTOGRAPHY
A failed day, a failed vlog, a total waste of time, why do I bother. STOP! Learn to embrace failure with landscape photography, oh and be prepared to get wet and cold many many times.
I set off with the intention to photograph and make a vlog on the sea defences. Many times I’ve tried this, and failed and yip I failed again or did I? I’m a believer of things are meant to be, it was pitch dark and the tide was in and going out, so perfect to chase the tide out but it felt dangerous and far too dark. I decided against shooting the defences at New Brighton and went back to the car.
Plan B became plan A and off I went! 6 miles to West Kirby Marina near Hilbre Island! YES! lets do it. I actually didn’t want a good sunrise, I was looking for long exposure mono or duo tone simplified compositions. I was buzzing at this location because I knew the potential of what was happening and the light I was getting.
I wanted to make a tutorial style video but I wasn’t feeling it. Fear not, when my studio is finished I will make this again with the added screen record and how I post processed all the images.
For now please take the time to watch the video and show your support by hitting subscribe, it is very appreciated. All the images from the shoot down below. Please drop me a message or feel free to ask me any questions…
Thank you so much for your time and joining me on another Mali Davies Photography adventure.
