Welcome back to the great outdoors and my return to nature!
Walking, going out was what started this creative exercise. You see, I found a tree and then another and another. This woodland has been a place I visited when I was much younger and now would be my solitary place to create and explore. Ah but the tree, THE TREE! Talked about online in the Pubcast, I’m honoured to be apart of. To be with 5 good friends who love nothing better than keeping me grounded, each of us connected and supportive of each other with just the right amount of Cockwomble humour. I’ll come back to these lot later, but first MY TREE!
An adorable twist of branch and leaf, interlocking trunk and green moss. Flowing low to the ground and twisting high to the sky. Something so unique to see and photographing was a complex challenge I loved with every degree of shift to the left down to the right, to get the composition of this mighty oak tree just right…
What do you think of this glorious Oak? I can’t wait to revisit in all seasons and grab a study for each of them. This will become an obsession and passion to take a photographs from many angles over a year. The day was not all about this glorious tree, it was a collection of images and styles, something I love to do. From Chiaroscuro to woodland trees filled with personality.
A quick bit of info about the images you see. The new website and now new hosting has given me an amazing place to share and share with speed! Lightning fast load speeds and development of the site to take place more often gives me opportunities to raise my photograph and hopefully provide you with a better overall experience. Here’s a small example of the new compression system i’m using for my images. No more full resolution, two reasons for this. People stealing my images is just not on and compression that keeps the quality and speeds up viewing hugely. The video below shows how SHORTPIXEL compresses my images. I’m one happy chap and would like to thank my good friend Ian for making all this happen and being a legend by putting up with my requests 🙂
