New Year New Tree // Woodland Photography
Take what chances you get… I thought. Without knowing we are about to go into the Third lockdown! So I headed out in search of a tree Jamie Overland told me about from his friend Alex Barrett / Photographs by Alexander. Thank you so much guys, this will be a place I will return to time and time again. I was lucky on this occasion due to heavy snow fall, but inside the pine forest you can’t tell at all that it had been snowing. A mystical place with lots to photograph great fun to be had with your camera!
It’s always great to find somewhere new, so exciting and challenging to get a good shot with what ever the conditions facing you. There was quite harsh light coming through the back of the pine forest and I feel this place would work really well just before sunrise and at sunset. I sit here typing this with a 9 year old asking me questions every 2 minutes, this gave me a brain wave… The mind of a child is always looking and questioning the world around them, we should take that thinking and use it on all photography shoots. What if I stand here, what if I get lower and so on… Don’t make it a WHAT IF, make it happen, duck down, move left, move right and change you composition until something sits right in you mind and on the back of the camera. Here are the images from the project and video I created at this time.
