Lockdown! It’s madness with a reason, to STAY AT HOME, protect the NHS and SAVE LIVES!
This is exactly what I did, every part of sentence. Looking after my family and trying to keep the children safe and not being frightened for their lives. Only 10 weeks ago, we where still able to do what we wanted when we wanted. It’s quite unbelievable…
So to start thinking about being creative or using the camera was so difficult, so many people suffering and so many people loosing loved ones. The idea of being creative was not the right thing to do, but I was wrong. After 5 to 6 weeks I started to feel lost, cut off from everything. You see, my life revolves around family and being creative. My wife plays piano and organs, my girls love to draw and create videos and myself, well you know what I do?
So it was time to sort my bloody head out and pull myself together and get creating! Mali style. This had a profound affect and I started to feel a little like myself again. Starting with the wildlife, birds in the garden and just feeding them like I normally would but now with the thoughts of where they feed and the background behind them and how this would look when photographed. My back garden was a tip, the whole garden front and back had timber and brickwork from the extension that had just been finished. This gave me the opportunity to move and tidy the lot as best I could. We can’t order a skip and I had nowhere to put the rubbish. This didn’t stop me as the birds where starting to flock and feast on my nuts.
In all this time I had been thinking about photographing the clouds and getting what I could from the natural environment that surrounded me. Everyday getting up sorting the family getting my wife off to work as she is a keyworker. Then I would set myself a task for throughout the day.
This is just a little back story of what I was getting up to but its probably better if you just watched the video 😁
SO enough waffling on and ROLL VT
