What am I on about now?
Well it’s a catch up on this section of the website called BLOG! Writing isn’t my strong point hence the delays on blog posting. Time to bring a few things together and if your arsed or interested, I’ll tell you how 2022 in photography has been going.
I wanted this year to go off with the sound of a starting gone and the legs of Usain BOLT! So far in creative terms IT’S HAPPENING! I managed to put out a video a fortnight until this week to keep the algorithms of YouTube smiling, well it’s bollox! A pile of nonsense if you are chasing your arse to put out photography week in week out, without sounding like a pompous What, What, I’m an artist don’t you know. Being creative should take time, it should be considered. Well I’m going back to the I’ll put it out when I’m good and ready, Mr Y Tubes, OK? Shakes fist at YouTube home screen.
So here’s some of the videos I’ve not blogged about, if you haven’t seen them already? Give us a watch today don’t delay its a one time offer… Reet I’m joking but… you know.
Photographing Woodland with NO FOG! Embrace woodland photography with Mali Davies. #Woodlandphotography #audiio #MusicForVideo
As you will see from the hash tags and the short message about me and audiio, I will explain a little. Music is an essential part of my videos and also a wonderful way to emphasise the story. I have used many companies over the 4 years of making YouTube videos and each have had some great music, but I always felt that the best music ended up getting used by other “vloggers” and the same old same music would appear on one video and another. SO when audiio approached me to work with them, I had to have a listen. The music they have available is great, constantly growing, more and more original music added all the time. To have support from audiio was very humbling and a big help. I also have the usual code and webpage to offer affiliate options to you guys. Discounts and great music. Any sign ups don’t just help audiio it helps me and keeps the wheels turning. I made a decision along time back that I wouldn’t just advertise any old crap and it has to benefit my channel. Making better videos and pushing my photography. Without the rat race and ramming products down your neck I feel this option works well with audiio and is a perfect fit. Let me know your thoughts down below.

Collaboration is what you need…
From the very beginning, I love to spend time with fellow creatives, I’m a social kinda guy! Seriously tho, that’s it, I love to meet interesting people, to share time, our enthusiasm for photography and creativity in the field with a lot of laughs thrown in. I have another video to be edited with my now good friend James Bell a landscape photographer I’ve admired and enjoyed his photography for years. We talked about YouTube and without a doubt has brought people together and a fantastic community exists because of it. The two times we have been out it happened with no real planning or any other alternative motives other than to share some time together within the landscape. I’ll talk more about that at the end of this. I’m amazed we got any videos made, with all the talking and excitement to share ideas and stories. Also our podcast we did together on Let’s Create Let’s talk was a great way to find how much common ground we had. Give the podcast a listen and watch our first collaboration video.

2022 Great people, podcasts and my love of conversation grows…
Its a funny old game. Welcome to the year of talking, podcasts seem to be getting more air time in my ears this year than videos I watch. This shift has come about due to my own podcast. The best way I guess to learn and get better is to see what others are doing, not to copy or cheaply rip off but to get behind the essence of what makes a good podcast. So far it’s a love affair, but I’m building it into a more significant relationship. I did three podcasts chats this week and at the rate I will have enough for the year ahead, but again I will not rush and take my time to put this out when I get the time to do so, so please stick with me if your a listener, I’ve had some great chats already in 2022. This brings me to Adam Karnacz First Man Photography, I was so nervous to ask him to chat but he was gentleman and happy to kick of the year with a chat on my podcast. Building relationships not just likes and spikes, we chatted for quite sometime. Now lets get some perspective here, I’ve supported Adam for years and always had a gut feeling he stood for similar honest reasons that I did. Integrity and honest creativity. I can’t thank him enough for his support after and to be part of his print campaign continuum, watch the video here. Also please do head over and get yourself Adam’s Book Illumination, its quite the read!

2022 is certainly on the GO!
I’ll round this post up with a thought about this year and come what may. We should do more to support each other when we can, we should not worry about photography rules and get outside when we can but most of all don’t do it all for likes, money, fame and fortune, because you’re in the wrong creative endeavour for that. Landscape Photography or any form of photography is dam hard to be successful and there are a-lot of people out there who want to be top dogg! They are wrapped up in NFT’s and the cash is king side of things, stating I need to put food on the table, and shouting GN GM we are a community (Cult) wow thats some table your buying at 24 ETH! I’m not stupid tho, I need to make some money and provide you with my enthusiasm because I believe my love for nature, the landscape and photography has to be shared. I will be putting myself out there for workshops, selling prints pushing more with video’s, podcasts, live talks and to give myself to this genre with enthusiam, passion and integrity.
If you’ve read this, thank you and well done, I told you writing isn’t my strong point.
Sithee!

Nowt wrong wi that Mali. You get your message and thoughts across just as you do in real life. I’m always keen to hear what you have to say. I’m not a big writer either but on the odd occasions when I do, it’s always dealt quite satisfying…sithee 👍
Hello Mali
I know about the problem with writing the blog, and I always have the impression that it won’t work out that way. But I think that each entry is good practice for the next one. By the way, this one was well written.
I’ve seen a few videos of you over the years but somehow never really found the time to sit down and visit your website, to leave a comment (but that’s probably because English is not my native language)…
I’m also a guy who enjoys being out in nature, hiking and seeing what’s changed since last time, photographing the seascape on the coast… I would also like to earn some extra money with my photos, maybe I’ll do a shop, I’m also happy about all the hearts on Instagram but actually I take pictures for myself. I want to go my way and not the way 1000 other photographers have gone before me. I like to be inspired by other photographers, but I would like that the viewer can see in the picture that the photographer was me and not one of 100 others making the same image.
Now I’ll listen to a podcast, I wish you always good light!
Greetings from Norway
Jörg
