Seascape Photography With Gary Gough | Storm Ciara EPIC SCENES!
Two days with a whole lot of BIG! Big Storms, Big Waves and a Big guy, Gary Gough and myself set out to photograph the crashing waves on the Wirral. Storm Ciara was at the perfect time with huge high tides set for New Brighton and Perch Rock lighthouse!
’10 metre day 1 and 11 metre day 2 high tides combined with 40 to 50 mph winds!’
Initially Gary wanted for both of us to head to Porthcawl. Now don’t get me wrong its an amazing place for big waves, but my thinking was every photographer and his dog would head there and I knew the tides and storm at New Brighton was a unique moment in time and would be something original and rare to see! I managed to persuade Gary, I still don’t know how but I did it and he agreed to meet me for the two days! NOW, the troubles we had been through to finally get a shoot and vlog! Seriously we had failed on multiple occasions hehe! But we did not give in. Even when he got here without his camera!! Yup he was so keen to meet me he rushed out without it hahaha! To top that off, his blogging rig / camera went west! You couldn’t write this!
The story continues… with amazing waves and laughs!
We managed to grab the moment and had a ball! A reet good laugh seeing a few photographer friends and getting covered in sea spray with waves 40 to 5o feet high! IT WAS EPIC! That word gets used a lot but see for yourself and watch both mine and Gary’s videos from the two days…
